In 2002 a varsity student fixed up a Golf he had bought for R5 000 and sold it from the side of the road. Today Zido Cars has showrooms in Benoni, Boksburg and Apex, and is approved by the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa and the Independent Dealer Association. It does not sell accident-damaged cars, and every car is checked to be legitimate before it goes on sale.
